California Dreamin' [with Mini Reviews]

Disneyland

I've had so many posts about the trip my family and friends took to Cali/ Vegas last summer. You'd think we were there for a month when in reality, we were there for merely ten days. Anywho, we only had a limited number of days and we tried to maximize our stay and visit as many places as we could, which included Disneyland and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

"Disneyland, where dreams come true."

Disneyland was one of my favorite childhood memories from when I was six years old; it was also my very first time visiting the U.S. Revisiting the amusement park this past summer, I couldn't pinpoint everything that changed, but I saw and rode the rides I went on when I was little and was also introduced to new ones. Nonetheless, it was a fun-filled and exciting day and I wish I could rewind back to it.

My friends, sister and I tried to ride most of the indoor roller coasters and whatever rides we could fit in the time frame we had. There are two photos we actually bought because they were hilarious, here they are:

My sister, the one who can never seem to take a decent photo on these rides, hated the roller coasters. On the last ride we were on, we were surrounded by silence at a stop at the top-right before it went down really fast. At that moment, all you heard was my sister saying, "Ugh, I'm so sick of this!" It was hilarious, you just had to be there, reading a sentence or two about what happened doesn't do it justice.

Disneyland Resort
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)
A great place to go with family, friends and children. For my sister and I, this part of the amusement park is perfect because we're not big fans of the huge roller coasters and there weren't many (they're mostly in California Adventure.)
Drawbacks: Long wait for rides and high prices

Howard Johnson Anaheim
Rating: ★★★(3 out of 5 stars)
From my experience it wasn't the best hotel, but good enough for a night's stay. It was a quick walk back to the hotel from Disneyland, which was an advantage.
Drawbacks: Bathroom cleanliness doubts, but was fine

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

If you recall from my previous post Up, Up, and Away || "For The First Time in Forever", I mentioned that we stayed at a resort in Palm Springs, CA. Despite the dessert heat, we had a chance to go to the Aerial Tramway in the area. It was such an exhilarating experience! Just imagine being 8,516 feet above sea level... It was scary, you felt the lift and swings of the car in your stomach. There wasn't any cellular service at the top, so no instant Instagram uploads haha! But no texting meant you had more time to admire the beauty...and take lots of pictures :P

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
Rating: ★★★★(5 out of 5 stars)
Really recommend if you're in the area with family and friends of all ages. It's not something you get to experience on the daily.
Drawbacks: Not for people who are afraid of heights

The Westin Mission Hills Resort, Palm Springs
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)
Really great resort with wonderful and relaxing scenery. Well-equipped rooms and nice employees.
Drawbacks: Not enough parking
